i first learned about Olly Murs back during his X-Factor days, a few years back. during the season, i was supporting another contestant, Lucie Jones, who apparently got eliminated at a very early stage of the show. Murs was placed under the supervision of Simon Cowell and had been one of the front runner. 

i turned to him when Lucie Jones got eliminated.

he was really good during the show, even performed a duet with Robbie Williams at the finale.

X-Factor UK is not aired in Malaysia, so i only managed to catch up to it through YouTube, i would check for video updates each week, so there's not too many people in Malaysia who knows him.

he came out with his first single "Please Don't let Me Go" in August 2010, i was lucky enough to have caught up with the video in the week of its release and have been a fan ever since. the song only arrived in Malaysia's local radio in mid 2011, i believe. it took almost a year for the locals to have found this great music.

comparing his first album with the latest one, i honestly think that he has found his best sounds. the latest album "In Case You Didn't Know" sounds great and i feel like i have more favourite tracks in the album, compared to the first. he sounds stronger and better in this album, the songs are more catchy, some light and easy, despite almost all of the songs are in bitter situations (there are lots of break-ups and grudges in the lyrics!) but the Motown sound really suits him.

instead of having only 2 strong songs in the first album which are "Please Don't Let Me Go" and "Thinking of Me", in this new album, there are plenty, although they might sound much alike, but in a whole composition, they are simply awesome.

i hope this guy finds success and manage to expand his name in Asia. it's a really frustrating thing and a big shame to see this talent undiscovered and unknown to people in this region.

i wish he'll make his way to Kuala Lumpur. i will surely and with no doubt go and catch him live, at any given ticket price.
